Kelan Ilya Daniel  "Risk Being Terrible"

 My Work

Is to play.

Introduction

I am a Fine Art Major at The University of California Santa Cruz with an extreme interest in cooking and handling exotic foods. I now am exploring ways to create motion driven sculptures that speak politically to the way in which our society is driven.

Approach

My education and experiences at UC Santa Cruz have allowed me to develop my skills in teaching and collaborating in a professional manner. During the Spring and Summer of 2011 ,  I worked as a Stage in an utterly talented kitchen at a restaurant called, Chez Pannise  for several weeks. There, I was able to develop my handling for food in a more abstract and expressive manner as well as develop a feel for working in a masterful environment. The care and craft and the smallest most meticulous jobs that became repetitively meditative after a while, have really inspired my art and given me new insight to how I approach my compositions.
